We are looking for a detail-oriented person to join our team at Woodland Homes as an Estimator.  As an Estimator, you will be responsible for cost estimates for homes, issuing purchase orders for materials and labor, monitoring costs of homes under construction, and helping coworkers identify and resolve issues during the build process.

Key Duties

Analyze blueprints and specifications to develop budgets for material and labor costs.

Assist the Plan Department in applying for and obtaining permits.

Communicate with coworkers, trades, vendors, and inspection departments to resolve issues and facilitate the construction process.

Identify potential opportunities for cost savings.

Issue purchase orders and variance purchase orders for materials and labor.

Assist purchasing in maintaining the company database of trade/vendor pricing.

Assist purchasing in maintaining sales pricing for options.

Monitor construction costs during the build process to identify and address any variances.

Participate in production meetings.

Review plans and specifications for accuracy and completeness.

Additional duties as necessary.

Requirements

Being detail-oriented and willing to learn.

Strong computer skills, especially Microsoft Excel.

Strong interpersonal communication skills.

Ability to read blueprints and construction specifications.

Work experience in the construction industry is a plus.
